It all started with a tomato.

Not just any tomato - wild ones, growing in North Carolina’s thick, buggy summer heat.

While most plants were getting eaten alive, these particular tomatoes stood untouched. No bites. No bugs. Just thriving.

A local professor discovered why: they produced Undecanone - a naturally occurring compound that repels mosquitoes and ticks. Nature had built its own bug shield. We just had to listen.
